Lots of people have questions about taking care of garter snakes as pets, so I thought I'd start this tribe off with a listing of some sites that are helpful in that regard (though Tribe.net seems to be munging the URLs).
My own garter care page at www.mcwetboy.com/gartercare
The Garter Girl at www.angelfire.com/fang/garter_girl
Garter Snake Home Page - Alan Francis at www.gartersnake.co.uk
Melissa Kaplan's Herp Care Information Collection: Garter Snakes at www.anapsid.org/gartcare.html
Yahoo! Groups: gartersnake at groups.yahoo.com/group/gartersnake
A few, like thamnophis.com and gartersnake.net, seem to have vanished in the last few years. And there are a few other sites in German.
Anyone know any other pages?

Re: Garter snake resources on-line
Tue, January 27, 2004 - 9:50 PMI definitely love Melissa Kaplan's website. strangely enough, I got an email from her at work. I'm a webmaster for a governmental website and she wrote to ask a question. I recognized her name and asked her if she was the Melissa Kaplan who did the herp site.
Had a nice little email conversation. Amazing how small the world is sometimes.
Glad to see ya started a garter group. They're good little snakes and quite under-rated. -

Poked around your website for a bit.
You're a Mac person!!! :)
so am I.
ever check out the forum at dealmac.com ??? It's definitely an interesting forum. You ought to join me there and post about snakes. :) I used to talk about my snakes quite a bit there.
you should consider joining the yahoogroups I just started: groups.yahoo.com/group/snake_conservation
We're trying to gather ideas for educational programs, etc.
